Back-to-School-Campaign
Preparing youth for success
WOC aims to meet the educational needs of children in homeless shelters, foster care, and the general community in Gwinnett and surrounding counties by providing free school supplies. Our annual back-to-school campaign aims to help ensure all students return to school with everything they need to succeed. We believe investing in our youth, no matter their circumstance or background, puts us on the track to help them thrive. Our school supply donations help teachers supplement what they can obtain from their school district for their classrooms. This is why we believe all kids should have access to learning tools at WOC. We provide hundreds of back-to-school supplies to students returning to school within Gwinnett and other communities each year. We purchase over 200 backpacks, pencils, pens, notebooks, and workbooks through WOC’s back-to-school initiative. In most cases, WOC serves as a community resource as these families receive minimal financial assistance raising these children.

Personal Development
Counseling & Prayer
Improving Mental Health
Christian counseling is based on the ideal that problems can be addressed and dealt with by examining God’s plan and His word and following His commands. We believe those who seek Christian counseling services from us expect Christian values. We desire to help people overcome their problems and find meaningful ways to obtain joy, become healthy and well-adjusted individuals. We will probe the past in an attempt to repair the present.
We offer pre-marital and marriage counseling, individual counseling, and stress/anxiety counseling. We will use our education, knowledge, skills and abilities to help our clients substitute faults with biblical teachings for day-to-day living. Prayer is also offered as a means of healing and communicating with our Lord regarding individual and family needs.
Healing Through Pampering
We believe homeless women are at the lowest point in their lives and therefore, the Healing Through Pampering Program (HTPP) is designed to show them they are ROYAL QUEENS. This program aims to give homeless women an experience where at the end of the day participants are made to feel like royalty, despite their struggles.
Our mission is to treat HTPP participants like they desire to be treated as the queens they are. Services include clothing, fine dining, hair make-over, facials, massages, pedicures, manicures, biblical teachings and interview skills and techniques.
Community Engagement
Shelter Feeding Program
Words of Comfort’s existence is based on biblical principles. Isaiah 58:10 states, “Feed the hungry, and help those in trouble. Then your light will shine out from the darkness, and the darkness around you will be as bright as noon.” To address malnutrition and hunger, we are committed to working with area shelters to provide cooked meals. It is through our concerned about the welfare of others that quarterly our generous volunteers provide these supportive services to residents in shelter environments to show just how much we care. Our driving passion is to touch lives and to see communities transformed through us, by the power of the Holy Spirit and Christ our Lord.
